Welcome to the webpage of Dr. Samanta's Laboratory

We conduct interdisciplinary research at the interface of organic chemistry, nanoscience and soft materials, focussing on the development of interactive microsystems and soft materials with lifelike properties. Our research efforts include the development of out-of-equilibrium self-assembly processes with programmable lifetimes and the conception and design of synthetic cellular entities that mimic key life-determining processes in living cells.

DNA NANOTECHNOLOGY

Various tools from DNA nanoscience are used in systems engineering due to their high programmability.

COACERVATES

Phase-separated liquid droplets of proteins and nucleic acids are a suitable means to mimic cellular protoplasm.

PHASE SEPARATION UNDER SOFT CONFINEMENT

Unusual morphological transition and kinetically arrested structures for various downstream applications.
